Thing #9
They are there through the Home Ownership Process.
Your real estate agent has been with you every step of the way up to this point. The closing is over, and you are unpacking boxes in your new home. All of a sudden it hits you. For the last three months you have talked to your real estate agent almost daily. Often times they were the first person you called in the morning and the last person you called before you went to bed. Often times clients, jokingly, call this a break up. It should not be that way.
Your real estate agent should, ideally, help you find a mover, advise the best places to get boxes, help you transfer utilities etc. Once you are moved in, the relationship, although not the same, should not vanish but rather evolve. Your real estate agent should help you own your home as well. For all things “home”, your real estate agent should be your first call. They won’t come over and weed your garden but they know people who will!
Real estate agents work, daily, with a wide range of professionals who deal with houses. Your real estate agent is an open book of resources and will continue to add value to your home ownership experience.
